The Final Days // The Final Days

The Final Days card, numbered 06 in the Final Fantasy Art Series, serves as a visual representation of the cataclysmic events depicted in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. Commissioned by Square Enix to commemorate the narrative climax of the Hydaelyn–Zodiarch saga, the artwork aims to capture the existential dread and atmospheric desolation of the world-ending event known as the Final Days. The illustration utilizes a muted, melancholic color palette to emphasize the gravity of the celestial phenomena threatening the game's setting.

The design was crafted by the internal art team at Square Enix, who intended to evoke the specific visual language of the game's high-stakes storytelling. By focusing on the juxtaposition of cosmic scale against individual vulnerability, the piece functions as a thematic summary of the expansion's core conflict. Upon its release within the collectible art series, it was received favorably by the community for its fidelity to the game's artistic direction and its ability to condense a complex, hours-long narrative arc into a single, evocative frame.
