Where it came from
Thunder of Unity was released as part of the Magic: The Gathering set Tarkir: Dragonstorm, which explores an alternate timeline of the Tarkir plane where dragons remain the dominant species. The card represents the thematic shift of the setting, focusing on the draconic influence over the region's clans and the magical storms that facilitate their creation.
The card’s illustration reflects the dramatic, high-fantasy aesthetic common to the Tarkir block, emphasizing the connection between the draconic forces and the environment. It was designed to function within the set's mechanical framework, which highlights aggressive creature-based strategies and the interplay between specific dragon-related card types.
