What it does
Roll a six-sided die. Put target nonland permanent into its owner's library just beneath the top X cards of that library, where X is the result.
Anyone other than a goblin would've gotten only a hand caught in the cookie jar.

Where it came from
Time Out was released in 2017 as part of the Unstable set for Magic: The Gathering. Designed by Wizards of the Coast, this set was the third silver-bordered expansion, created specifically for non-sanctioned, casual play with mechanics that push the boundaries of traditional card game rules. The card was illustrated by Johannes Voss, whose whimsical style was intended to capture the chaotic and humorous tone of the set's silver-bordered philosophy.
The card functions as a satirical commentary on the concept of pausing a game, literally requiring the player to call a timeout for a set duration. Within the Unstable set, it served as an example of 'meta' design, where the mechanics interact with the physical environment and behavior of the players rather than just the game board. It was received by the community as a lighthearted, experimental piece of design that emphasized the fun-first ethos of the Unstable environment.
