Tyranid

The Tyranid token, cataloged as number 17★, was produced as part of the Warhammer 40,000 accessory line to support tabletop gameplay. These tokens were designed to help players track the presence and status of the Tyranid faction, an extragalactic alien race known for their hive-mind intelligence and rapid biological evolution. They were crafted to provide functional clarity on the battlefield while maintaining the grim, industrial aesthetic central to the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

The visual language of these tokens draws heavily from the established iconography of the Tyranid miniatures line, which has evolved through various artistic interpretations since the faction's introduction in the late 1980s. Designed by the creative team at Games Workshop, the token emphasizes the distinct, insectoid biological features characteristic of the race. Like much of the peripheral merchandise released by the company, this item was intended to streamline the experience of complex wargame simulations for hobbyists and players.
