Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath

Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath was originally introduced in the 2020 expansion set Theros Beyond Death, designed as a powerful mythic rare creature that quickly defined the competitive landscape of Magic: The Gathering. The card represents an Elder Giant from the mythology of the Theros plane, embodying themes of growth and inevitable decay. Its mechanics, which allow for recurring resource advantage through card draw and land ramp, made it a cornerstone of high-level play, leading to its eventual restriction or banning in several constructed formats due to its sheer efficiency.

This specific iteration originates from the Modern Horizons 3 Commander set, which serves as a supplemental release designed to introduce high-powered cards into eternal formats. The design team focused on maintaining the identity of the original Titan while updating the visual presentation to reflect the aesthetic standards of modern supplemental sets. The artwork, which retains the imposing scale and naturalistic terror of the original design, was intended to evoke the cycle of life and death central to the character's role in the game's lore.
