Where it came from
Valor's Flagship was released as part of the Aetherdrift Promos set, a collection of limited-edition cards distributed during special event circuits to celebrate the franchise's tenth anniversary. Designed by lead illustrator Elena Vance, the piece was intended to capture the ethereal aesthetic of the Aetherdrift realm, utilizing muted watercolors and intricate line work to distinguish it from the more vibrant standard-edition cards in the base set.
Upon its release, the card became a focal point for competitive players and visual collectors alike. While its gameplay utility was debated due to its high mana cost, the community widely praised the artistry of the foil etching process applied to the flagship's sails. It remains a hallmark of the promotional run, often cited for its contribution to the expanded lore regarding the fleet of the Aetherian skies.
