Where it came from
Vault 87: Forced Evolution was released as part of the Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond Fallout set in 2024. The card depicts a central, harrowing location from the Fallout video game franchise, specifically the underground facility where the Enclave conducted experiments involving the Forced Evolutionary Virus on unwilling subjects.
The card features artwork commissioned to capture the dark, industrial aesthetic of the Fallout universe, focusing on the laboratory setting where the series' iconic Super Mutants were first created. It was designed as a thematic representation of the lore, serving as a mechanical translation of the franchise's emphasis on scientific horror and the lasting consequences of pre-war experimentation.
