Vicious Hunger

Vicious Hunger was first printed in the 2008 Magic: The Gathering product Duel Decks: Garruk vs. Liliana. These decks were designed as a thematic introduction to the game’s planeswalker characters, pitting the green-aligned hunter Garruk Wildspeaker against the black-aligned necromancer Liliana Vess. The card serves as a mechanical representation of Liliana's signature style of dark magic, focusing on life-draining effects that bolster the player while hindering the opponent.

The card features illustration by Jim Murray, who captured the grim, gothic aesthetic central to Liliana's character design.
