Where it came from
Voice of the Provinces was released in 2020 as part of the Jumpstart set, a product line designed by Wizards of the Coast to facilitate a quick, accessible entry point for new players. The set utilized a unique gameplay format where players combined two themed, 20-card pre-constructed decks to create a ready-to-play deck, emphasizing synergy and randomized themes rather than the traditional deck-building process.
The card features artwork by illustrator Johannes Voss, who rendered the creature in a style consistent with the high-fantasy aesthetic of the Magic: The Gathering multiverse. As a large-scale Eldrazi creature, the card was designed to function as a powerful late-game threat in limited play environments, and it is recognized by collectors as a distinct contribution to the set's broader mechanical focus on creature-based battlefield impact.
