Warrior en-Kor

Warrior en-Kor was introduced in the 1998 Stronghold expansion for Magic: The Gathering. As part of the Rath cycle, the set introduced mechanics designed to emphasize tactical combat and board control. This card specifically features the redirect ability, which was a signature mechanic of the Kor creature type, allowing players to shift damage from the Warrior to other creatures they controlled to mitigate loss during combat.

The card’s illustration was created by artist Christopher Rush, a foundational contributor to the game's early visual identity. Rush utilized a distinct, high-contrast style to depict the Kor as agile, nomadic survivors of the plane of Rath. Upon its release, the card became a staple in utility-focused white decks, prized for its ability to turn fragile creature boards into a cohesive defensive front.
