Wind-Scarred Crag was released in early 2015 as part of the Fate Reforged set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. It belongs to a cycle of common-rarity dual lands known as 'refuge lands,' which provide players with flexibility by producing two different colors of mana while simultaneously granting a small life-gain benefit upon entering the battlefield. This design was intended to stabilize mana bases in the Limited draft environment of the Khans of Tarkir block while offering newer players a reliable resource for multicolored deck building.
