Wrenn's Resolve

Wrenn's Resolve was originally introduced as a common red sorcery card in the March of the Machine set, released by Wizards of the Coast in 2023. The card depicts the planeswalker Wrenn during a pivotal moment in the Phyrexian invasion of the Multiverse, reflecting the set's high-stakes narrative where diverse characters from across different planes banded together to defend their homes. It serves as a mechanical representation of card advantage and impulse draw, typical of the red color pie's approach to resource management.

The card’s artwork was illustrated by Dominik Mayer, whose distinct, angular, and expressionistic style has become a hallmark of modern Magic: The Gathering card design. Mayer’s work on this piece captures the desperate, fiery essence of Wrenn's mission, using sharp lines and a high-contrast palette to convey the intensity of the character's journey. When the card was later reprinted as part of The List—a curated pool of cards inserted into various booster packs—it allowed players to encounter this specific piece of the March of the Machine story within different pack environments.
