Zookeeper Mechan

Zookeeper Mechan was released as part of the Edge of Eternities expansion, a set centered on the intersection of industrial technology and bio-organic management. Designed to introduce a new tactical archetype to the game, the card reflects the aesthetic shift of the era toward brass-heavy, utilitarian steampunk visuals. The illustration was commissioned to emphasize the mechanical complexity of the character, placing it in a long-standing tradition of support-class creatures within the franchise.

Upon its introduction, the card was received as a niche but effective utility tool for players focusing on board control. The design team aimed to balance its high-cost ability with a modest defense stat, forcing players to protect the unit to realize its long-term strategic value. It remains a recognizable piece from the series, often cited by fans for its distinct visual style that deviated from the more fluid, fantastical designs prevalent in earlier sets.
