Where it came from
A Sheep in Wolf Clothing is a web manga series authored by Hei Quan and illustrated by Bai Dian. Emerging from the highly competitive Chinese digital comics landscape, the series belongs to the shonen-ai or boys' love genre, utilizing classic tropes of hidden identities and mismatched power dynamics to build its narrative tension. It was created to appeal to readers looking for a blend of contemporary romantic drama and lighthearted comedic misunderstandings, reflecting the growing trend of serialized web-based storytelling in the region.
The character design and visual style were crafted by Bai Dian, who focused on balancing the stark personality contrast between the leads through distinct facial expressions and stylistic flair. The work is widely recognized for its polished aesthetic and accessible art style, which helped it gain a steady following across various online platforms.
