Avengers Epic Collection: Seasons Of The Witch

The Avengers Epic Collection: Seasons of the Witch was compiled by Marvel Comics to organize and reprint a specific run of the long-running Avengers series. It focuses primarily on the storytelling work of Roger Stern during the mid-1980s, a period often cited by fans and critics as a high point for the title due to its focus on character development and the integration of complex subplots. The collection chronicles the tenure of the team during a transitional era, specifically highlighting the 'Scarlet Witch' arc that explores the deep personal history and psychological struggles of Wanda Maximoff.

Roger Stern, who served as the primary writer during these issues, was known for his grounded approach to superhero tropes, prioritizing team dynamics and continuity. The art featured in this volume highlights contributions from various illustrators who helped define the Marvel house style of the 1980s. This Epic Collection format was introduced by Marvel to provide readers with a comprehensive, chronological way to access classic storylines, ensuring that these vintage comics remain accessible to modern collectors while preserving the aesthetic and narrative tone of the original monthly releases.
