Beast of Man ~Death Metal ma Hitozute Jigoku no Live Gomon Mokushiroku~

Beast of Man, also known as Death Metal ma Hitozute Jigoku no Live Gomon Mokushiroku, is a distinct work of adult-oriented manga created by the artist Kabocha. Emerging from the subculture of extreme and transgressive seinen manga, the work focuses on dark, visceral, and often surreal themes characterized by a highly stylized approach to graphic violence and atmospheric horror. It reflects a specific niche in Japanese indie publishing that prioritizes intense visual storytelling over mainstream sensibilities.

The design of the volume leans into a raw, uncompromising aesthetic, with Kabocha employing sharp linework and stark contrasts to emphasize the grotesque nature of the subject matter. As an item produced within the independent scene, it represents a deliberate departure from polished, commercial art styles, aiming instead to evoke a sense of unease and confrontation. While primarily recognized within circles of underground manga collectors, it remains a notable example of the artist's commitment to a brutalist, avant-garde visual language.
