Catalogue des ouvrages mis à la disposition des lecteurs dans la salle de travail du Bureau de traduction ; précédé des Arrêtés organiques, du règlement de la salle de travail, etc

This catalogue was published in the late 19th century to serve as the definitive index for the reference collection housed within the Bureau de traduction, a specialized administrative office in France. It was intended to streamline the research process for translators and officials by providing a structured list of dictionaries, linguistic texts, and legal references available in the reading room. By cataloging these specific resources, the Bureau aimed to ensure institutional consistency and facilitate the rigorous translation of official documents.

The publication acts as a historical window into the bureaucratic methodology of the era, as it begins with the formal 'Arrêtés organiques' and the official regulations governing the use of the reading room. These prefatory texts define the institutional culture and the strict professional standards required of those who utilized the facility. The document remains a significant artifact for historians of French administration, illustrating how the state organized its information infrastructure to manage the complexities of multilingual governance during the Third Republic.
