Daily Butterfly x Daytime Shooting Star

The Daily Butterfly x Daytime Shooting Star crossover volume is a collaborative publication featuring work by Suu Morishita. It emerged from the popular shoujo magazine Margaret, where both Hibi Chouchou (Daily Butterfly) and Hirunaka no Ryuusei (Daytime Shooting Star) were serialized concurrently during the early 2010s. This special project was designed to celebrate the shared aesthetic and emotional depth of the two series, pairing Suu Morishita’s delicate, atmospheric character designs with the narrative styles that defined the era's romance manga landscape.

The volume was curated to highlight the distinct artistic evolution of Morishita, who is widely regarded for her ability to convey internal monologue through subtle visual cues. The design emphasizes a minimalist, airy quality that captures the fleeting nature of adolescent affection, reflecting the thematic focus of both source works. Upon release, it was well-received by fans of the genre for its high production values and for providing a rare, unified look at two of the most significant romantic dramas to emerge from the Shueisha imprint during that period.
