Der Pferdeliebhaber: ein Handbuch über Pferdekenntniss im weitern Sinne für Besitzer, Züchter und Liebhaber der Pferde in allen Ständen und Ländern

Published during the mid-19th century in Germany, Der Pferdeliebhaber was conceived as a comprehensive pedagogical resource for the equine enthusiast. At a time when the horse remained the primary engine of both rural industry and aristocratic transport, B. von Oeynhausen authored this handbook to professionalize the care, breeding, and general understanding of horses across various social strata. Its focus on knowledge in the 'widest sense' reflected the Enlightenment-era desire to codify practical expertise into a structured, accessible reference format for landowners and breeders alike.

The design of the volume adheres to the tradition of German scientific and technical handbooks of the period, emphasizing clarity and systematic categorization over purely decorative aesthetics. Written with a pragmatic intent, the work sought to elevate the standard of equestrian management by providing foundational technical guidance. It serves as an informative relic of 19th-century agricultural literature, illustrating how specialized knowledge was disseminated through printed volumes to ensure the preservation and improvement of livestock during an era of significant social and economic transformation.
