Der Pelikan: Monatsschrift für das Volk zum Preise des allerheiligsten Altarsakramentes ; Organ der Erzbruderschaft der Ewigen Anbetung, der Ehrenwache des Heiligsten Herzens Jesu und anderer eucharistischer Vereine

Der Pelikan was established as a monthly periodical serving as the official organ for various Catholic eucharistic associations, most notably the Archconfraternity of Perpetual Adoration and the Honor Guard of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Published in the early 20th century, the periodical was designed to foster piety among the laity, providing devotional material, theological commentary, and news pertinent to eucharistic worship. It reflected the broader trend of late 19th and early 20th-century Catholic revivalism, where organizations aimed to deepen personal devotion to the Blessed Sacrament through institutional publication and organized prayer groups.

The publication's aesthetic and editorial direction centered on traditional Roman Catholic iconography, with the title itself referencing the pelican—a long-standing Christian symbol of Christ’s self-sacrifice, representing the nourishment of the faithful through the Eucharist. It functioned as an instructional and spiritual bridge between the clergy and the lay community. While its reach was primarily within German-speaking eucharistic circles, the journal serves as a historical document of the devotional landscape during a period of significant liturgical activity, offering insight into the instructional materials provided to the Catholic public of that era.
