Exorcist no Kiyoshi-kun (Pre-Serialization)

Exorcist no Kiyoshi-kun originated as a one-shot manga authored by Usui Shouichi, published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump. This early iteration was designed to test reader interest and establish the tone for what would eventually evolve into a serialized project. The narrative explores supernatural themes through the lens of shonen tropes, balancing humor with dark, exorcism-based action sequences.

The aesthetic of the work reflects Shouichi's focus on kinetic character design and atmospheric panel layouts, typical of the Jump style during its period of publication. As a pre-serialization piece, it served as a critical proof of concept for the author's ability to maintain a compelling hook within a short page count. While primarily functioning as a developmental milestone for the series, the work received enough positive engagement from the editorial staff and initial readers to facilitate the transition into its eventual serialized format.
