GAMERA-Rebirth- code thyrsos　Chapter 1

GAMERA -Rebirth- code thyrsos is a manga adaptation of the 2023 animated series Gamera: Rebirth, which marked the return of the iconic kaiju to the screen under the direction of Hiroyuki Seshita. Published in the Kadokawa-owned magazine Young Ace, this series serves to expand upon the lore of the Netflix production, offering a complementary narrative perspective to the television show's events. The adaptation aims to capture the dark, industrial aesthetic of the animated series while utilizing the static medium to delve deeper into the psychological motivations of the protagonists who interact with the legendary turtle.

The series is written and illustrated by Cambria Bakuhatsu Taro, who was tasked with translating the high-octane kaiju action and complex monster designs into a cohesive manga format. The design philosophy centers on maintaining visual continuity with the Gamera: Rebirth aesthetic, focusing on clean lines and a gritty, modern tone. The work has been received as a faithful companion piece to the animation, appreciated by fans for its focus on the human-centric narrative that characterizes this modern iteration of the Gamera franchise.
