Grave Robbers’ Chronicles

Grave Robbers' Chronicles, also known as Daomu Biji, originated as an expansive web novel series by the author known as Xu Lei, who writes under the pseudonym Nanpai Sanshu. While the provided details mention Lao Hu Li, the core narrative of this cultural phenomenon launched in 2006 on the Chinese literature portal Qidian, quickly evolving into one of the most significant works of modern Chinese adventure fiction. The story follows an antique shop owner descended from a long line of tomb raiders, blending elements of suspense, historical exploration, and supernatural folklore.

The design and conceptual direction of the series were driven by the author's desire to modernize traditional Chinese tomb-raiding legends through a lens of meticulous world-building and character-driven mystery. Upon its release, the series achieved immense commercial success and sparked a massive transmedia franchise, influencing television, film, and graphic novel adaptations. Its reception solidified it as a cornerstone of the 'daomu' subgenre, celebrated for its complex puzzle-solving elements and the deep camaraderie portrayed between its protagonists.
