Where it came from
Released in the early 2000s, this comic anthology emerged during the peak popularity of the Guilty Gear XX fighting game series. It serves as a collection of short-form manga stories created by various artists to flesh out the eccentric personalities and chaotic world-building established by the game’s core development team.
The volume features direct contributions and supervision from series creator Daisuke Ishiwatari, who provided key visual direction to ensure the anthology maintained the series' distinctive heavy metal aesthetic. It was received as a companion piece for dedicated fans seeking expanded character interactions outside of the arcade and console fighting experience, emphasizing the game's cult status in the Japanese doujin and professional manga spheres.
