Harry Potter - Something In The Snow (Doujinshi)

Something in the Snow is a work of fan literature, specifically a doujinshi, created by the Japanese artist Haruna Yayoi. Produced within the vibrant subculture of Japanese Harry Potter fandom during the early 2000s, it reimagines the characters of the Wizarding World through the lens of shōnen-ai or yaoi manga tropes. These works were typically self-published and distributed at events like Comiket, serving as an outlet for fans to explore narrative arcs and character dynamics not addressed in J.K. Rowling's original novels.

The artistic style of the work reflects the distinct aesthetic conventions of Japanese indie manga from that period, characterized by soft linework and emotive character expressions. Like many doujinshi from this era, it was created by fans for a niche audience of fellow enthusiasts. Because these items were produced in limited, unofficial print runs and intended for private circulation within fan circles, they hold significance primarily as historical artifacts of the early 21st-century global expansion of Harry Potter fandom and the specific influence it exerted on Japanese doujin culture.
