Heart no Kuni no Alice - J*Scramble*A (Doujinshi)

Heart no Kuni no Alice, known in English as Alice in the Country of Hearts, originated as a popular otome game and manga series characterized by its subversion of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale. The doujinshi titled J*Scramble*A was produced by the fan circle Blue Core, operating within the vibrant Japanese amateur publishing scene where creators develop unofficial derivative works based on established intellectual properties. These publications typically emerge from conventions like Comiket, serving as a creative space for fans to explore character dynamics and narratives that exist outside the constraints of the original commercial series.

The creative direction of Blue Core’s work in J*Scramble*A reflects the specific aesthetic conventions common to doujin culture, emphasizing expressive character illustrations and thematic expansion of the original series' gothic, wonderland-inspired motifs. As a self-published work, it was produced for a niche audience of dedicated fans seeking alternative interpretations of the source material. Like many items in this category, its reception was localized to fan communities, serving as an expression of appreciation for the source material through the lens of individual artistic interpretation rather than seeking mainstream publication status.
