Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko. Nya!

Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko. Nya! is a spin-off volume derived from the light novel series Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko, written by Sagara Sou and illustrated by Kantoku. Emerging during the height of the series' popularity in the early 2010s, this collection was designed to provide supplemental stories and character-focused vignettes that expanded upon the central narrative involving Youto Yokodera and his encounters with the stone statue of the Smiling Cat. The volume maintains the distinct light novel aesthetic, featuring Kantoku's signature delicate character designs and vibrant color palettes that defined the franchise's visual identity.

The publication was developed as part of a broader multimedia strategy to capitalize on the series' successful transition into both manga and anime adaptations. By shifting the focus toward specific character interactions and lighthearted scenarios, the volume aimed to deepen the audience's emotional connection to the cast. The work was generally received as a light, thematic companion piece intended for established fans of the series, adhering to the established tone of romantic comedy blended with supernatural elements that characterized Sagara Sou's original writing.
