Hey Miss, Don't You Know?

Hey Miss, Don't You Know? is a josei manga series written and illustrated by Aya Asano, originally serialized in the Japanese magazine Petit Comic beginning in 2018. The series emerged during a period of renewed interest in workplace-focused romantic comedies that highlight the intersection of professional dedication and private emotional lives. Asano crafted the narrative to explore the contrasting temperaments of its leads, focusing on the slow-burn dynamic between a workaholic, socially oblivious manga artist and a highly polished, attentive hair stylist.

The visual design of the volume reflects Asano's characteristic clean linework and expressive character portraits, which are staples of the modern josei aesthetic. Upon its release, the series was well-received for its lighthearted tone and ability to balance comedic misunderstandings with genuine character development. It gained enough critical and commercial traction to be adapted into a live-action television drama in 2019, further cementing its place as a representative work of contemporary Japanese romantic manga.
