ICONOLOGY

The ICONOLOGY volume was published by Idea Factory, an organization recognized for its focus on character-driven interactive media and aesthetic-heavy design. Released as part of an effort to codify the visual language and thematic consistency of their internal creative works, the volume serves as a repository for the motifs and symbolic frameworks that define the studio's broader catalog. It emerged during a period when the studio sought to bridge the gap between their game development roots and a more formal art-book presentation.

The design of ICONOLOGY emphasizes a minimalist approach to character and environmental symbolism, aiming to distill complex narrative elements into singular, recognizable icons. The artistic direction was spearheaded by the internal design teams at Idea Factory, who prioritized clarity and structural cohesion to reflect the company's evolving brand identity. Upon its release, it was received as a functional companion piece for enthusiasts of the studio’s output, valued primarily for its insight into the visual shorthand employed across their various titles.
