Juuza Engi ~Engetsu Sangokuden~

Juuza Engi ~Engetsu Sangokuden~ originated as a visual novel developed by Idea Factory and released under their Otomate brand. The title reimagines the classic Chinese epic Romance of the Three Kingdoms, casting the protagonist as a girl belonging to the tribe of the tiger. It was crafted to blend historical inspiration with the signature romantic and character-driven narrative structure common to the Otomate catalog, emphasizing high-quality character art and voice acting.

The character designs were handled by the illustrator Teita, whose work on the project was noted for its distinct, ethereal aesthetic and intricate period-inspired attire. The title was received as a significant entry in the genre, eventually leading to a series of adaptations, including manga volumes and stage plays, which helped expand the story's reach beyond the initial gaming audience. These adaptations sought to capture the emotional core of the original interactive narrative in a static, sequential format.
