Ikemen ni Tensei Shita kedo Cheat wa Dekimasen deshita.

Ikemen ni Tensei Shita kedo Cheat wa Dekimasen deshita. (I Reincarnated as a Handsome Guy, But I Couldn't Use Cheats.) is a light novel series written by Mikan Jelly. Originating from the popular Japanese web novel platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō, the series emerged during the mid-2010s amidst a surge in 'isekai' (otherworld reincarnation) stories that sought to subvert the genre's common tropes. By focusing on a protagonist who lacks the expected overpowered abilities despite his advantageous new appearance, the author aimed to explore the contrast between high-fantasy expectations and the realities of a mundane life in a new world.

The character design and illustrative style, typically credited to various artists throughout its light novel iterations, lean into the aesthetic conventions of the shōnen and seinen fantasy demographics. The series is known for its lighthearted tone and emphasis on character development over traditional power progression. It was received as a humorous, grounded entry in the crowded isekai market, gaining a dedicated following that appreciated the departure from the standard 'cheat skill' narrative formula that dominated the genre at the time of its publication.
