Kaiserlich-königliches Armee-Verordnungsblatt: Personal-Angelegenheiten

The Kaiserlich-königliches Armee-Verordnungsblatt, specifically the series dedicated to Personal-Angelegenheiten, served as the official administrative gazette for the Austro-Hungarian Imperial and Royal Army. Published in Vienna throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries, these volumes functioned as the primary record for military personnel matters, including officer appointments, promotions, decorations, and reassignments. They were essential tools for maintaining the bureaucratic integrity of the complex multi-ethnic military structure that underpinned the Habsburg monarchy.

The design and production of these volumes followed strict imperial administrative standards, prioritizing clarity and uniformity for civil servants and military officials. Compiled by the Austrian War Ministry, the volumes were not meant for a general readership but for circulation within the military hierarchy to ensure official directives and personnel changes were codified. Today, these records are invaluable for historians researching the social history of the Austro-Hungarian officer corps and the bureaucratic mechanisms that sustained the imperial military institution prior to its dissolution in 1918.
