Kaiserlich-königliches Armee-Verordnungsblatt: Personal-Angelegenheiten

The Kaiserlich-königliches Armee-Verordnungsblatt, specifically the section dedicated to Personal-Angelegenheiten, served as an official administrative organ of the Austro-Hungarian War Ministry. Published during the twilight of the Dual Monarchy, these volumes functioned as the definitive gazette for military personnel changes, promotions, decorations, and organizational restructuring within the Imperial and Royal Armed Forces. They provided the necessary bureaucratic transparency for a sprawling, multi-ethnic military apparatus, ensuring that officers and civil servants across the empire remained informed of official decrees.

The design of these volumes is strictly utilitarian, reflecting the rigid formality of the Habsburg military bureaucracy. Produced under the authority of the K.u.K. Kriegsministerium, the typography and layout were standardized to maintain a uniform archival appearance across years of publication. While not designed for public aesthetic appeal, the volumes are highly regarded today as primary historical sources, offering researchers granular insight into the professional movements of the officer corps leading up to and during the First World War.
