Kamisama no Iru Machi

Kamisama no Iru Machi, or The Town Where God Lives, was written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu and released as a one-shot manga. It serves as a formative work in the creator's career, showcasing the early development of the distinct visual style and thematic sensibilities that would later define his more widely recognized serializations. The narrative explores surreal, often melancholic encounters between the mundane world and inexplicable, otherworldly entities.

The story was conceived as a standalone piece, focusing on atmospheric tension rather than traditional long-form progression. It is frequently discussed by manga enthusiasts and collectors as a vital piece of the artist's history, reflecting a specific period of experimentation with genre blending. While it did not receive the mainstream global distribution of his later titles, it is regarded by critics as a foundational creative effort that highlights the author's ability to balance quiet, character-driven moments with sudden, unsettling shifts in reality.
