Knight Ballad of the Fairy Kingdom ~The Dragon Sleeping in the Golden Green Valley~

Knight Ballad of the Fairy Kingdom ~The Dragon Sleeping in the Golden Green Valley~ is a fantasy manga series authored and illustrated by Nakayama Seika. It emerged from the established tradition of late-twentieth-century shojo manga that emphasizes intricate world-building, romantic melancholy, and high-fantasy aesthetics. The series was crafted to evoke a sense of mythic nostalgia, blending traditional European-inspired folklore with the delicate, ornate character designs that became a hallmark of the artist's visual style during its initial serialization.

The narrative follows a protagonist deeply entwined with the legendary creatures and landscape of the titular valley, focusing on themes of duty and ethereal connection. Within the industry, the series was received as a contemplative entry in the fantasy genre, noted primarily for its atmospheric panel layouts and the consistent, ethereal quality of its line work. It remains a specialized title, valued by collectors for its ability to balance traditional fairy tale tropes with the specific, introspective pacing characteristic of Seika's body of work.
