Koisuru 2DK, Ayakashi Zensai Tsuki, written and illustrated by Sakura Roku, emerged from the contemporary trend of supernatural domestic comedy manga. Published by Ichijinsha, the series blends elements of urban fantasy with the slice-of-life genre, focusing on the unconventional living arrangements between human characters and mythological ayakashi. The work reflects a growing market interest in low-stakes, heartwarming narratives that emphasize interpersonal growth and culinary themes as a backdrop for romantic comedy.

Sakura Roku’s visual style for the series prioritizes soft, expressive character designs that lean into the gentle tone of the narrative. The design aesthetic is intended to make the supernatural entities appear approachable and integrated into modern life, moving away from traditional horror motifs to focus on domestic harmony. Upon its release, the volume was well-received by readers seeking lighthearted escapism, praised for its cozy atmosphere and the charming interplay between its protagonists.
