Lamia, Isabella, the Eve of St. Agnes, Hyperion and Other Poems

This volume presents a foundational collection of poems by John Keats, first published in 1820. This particular edition serves as a modern reprint of the poet's final collection released during his lifetime, which featured his most celebrated narrative works. The compilation remains a cornerstone of English Romantic literature, showcasing Keats's mastery of sensuous imagery and his profound preoccupation with the intersection of beauty and mortality.

The editorial history of these works reflects the evolution of Keats's reputation from a struggling contemporary poet to a canonical figure of the nineteenth century. While Keats himself struggled with public reception during his brief life, the works contained herein—specifically 'The Eve of St. Agnes' and 'Hyperion'—are widely regarded as his most sophisticated achievements in structure and thematic depth. Modern editions like this one aim to preserve the integrity of his original sequence, ensuring his lyrical legacy remains accessible to new generations of readers.
