Le Monde de Milo

Le Monde de Milo is a fantasy graphic novel series created by writer Richard Marazano and illustrator Christophe Ferreira, first published in 2013 by Dargaud. The series follows a young boy named Milo who lives a solitary life with his aunt until he discovers a mysterious girl and a strange world emerging from a sea of clouds. The narrative serves as a meditative exploration of childhood loneliness, curiosity, and the threshold between reality and imagination, drawing heavily on the aesthetics of classic adventure tales.

Christophe Ferreira, who has significant experience in animation, brought a distinct cinematic sensibility to the visuals. His design choices emphasize expansive, dreamlike environments and a soft, painterly color palette that differentiates the series from more traditional Franco-Belgian comics. Upon its release, the work was well-regarded for its atmospheric world-building and the seamless collaboration between Marazano’s lyrical storytelling and Ferreira’s evocative, fluid artistic style.
