Lord Preston's Secret Tutor

Lord Preston's Secret Tutor is a webnovel and subsequent webtoon adaptation created by the South Korean author Seongha. It emerged during the late 2010s, a period marked by the rapid global expansion of the romance fantasy genre on digital publishing platforms. The work follows the conventions of the 'regressor' or 'transmigration' subgenre, focusing on a protagonist who navigates complex interpersonal dynamics within a Regency-inspired aristocratic setting, a common motif in Korean digital literature that blends Western period tropes with modern narrative pacing.

The aesthetic direction of the webtoon adaptation leans heavily into the opulent, high-detail visuals that characterize top-tier manhwa. The character designs were crafted to emphasize the contrast between the titular Lord Preston—often depicted with the stoic, refined features typical of the genre’s romantic leads—and the tutor, whose internal monologue drives the series' central intrigue. Upon its serialization, the work received steady attention for its character-driven focus, securing a dedicated readership who appreciated the balance between political maneuvering and slow-burn romantic tension.
