Mobile Suit Gundam - Record of MS Wars II

Mobile Suit Gundam: Record of MS Wars II is a manga series created by artist and writer Kazuhisa Kondou, originally serialized in the late 1980s. Emerging during a period of significant expansion for the Gundam franchise, this work serves as an alternative retelling of the One Year War. Kondou is noted for his distinct, gritty aesthetic, which emphasizes the mechanical realism and military-industrial aspects of the mobile suits rather than the more stylized or heroic portrayals often found in other entries of the franchise.

Kondou's design philosophy for the series was heavily influenced by real-world armored warfare and technical documentation. By focusing on the logistical and grounded tactical elements of the Universal Century, he provided a niche but influential perspective that catered to fans interested in the 'real robot' genre. Upon its release, the work was well-received by core hobbyists for its detailed depictions of hardware, establishing a specific visual language that remains closely associated with the manga artist's contributions to the broader Gundam canon.
