Moriarty the Patriot: The Remains 1

Moriarty the Patriot: The Remains is a supplemental anthology series that expands upon the narrative universe of the original Moriarty the Patriot manga, a reimagining of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes series from the perspective of his primary antagonist. This specific volume serves as a collection of short stories and character vignettes, focusing on the intricate personal dynamics and past lives of the Moriarty clan and their associates, published to satisfy the demand for deeper lore following the conclusion of the main series arc.

The illustrative work by Hikaru Miyoshi maintains the signature gothic and meticulously detailed aesthetic established in the main series. Miyoshi's visual style emphasizes Victorian-era atmosphere and dramatic character expressions, which were central to the series' successful critical reception as a psychological thriller. By shifting the focus to these shorter, atmospheric pieces, the volume allows for a more intimate look at the characters' motivations, providing a contemplative counterpoint to the high-stakes political maneuvering of the original saga.
