Where it came from
Ningen Fushin no Boukenshatachi ga Sekai o Sukuu Youdesu, known in English as Adventurers Who Lost Faith in People Will Save the World, originated as a light novel series written by Shinta Fuji. Initially serialized on the user-generated novel publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2019, the story centers on a group of disillusioned adventurers who form an unlikely party after being betrayed by those they trusted. The narrative explores themes of camaraderie and healing, grounding its fantasy elements in the psychological recovery of its protagonists.
Following the success of the light novels, which feature illustrations by Susumu Kuroi, the series was adapted into a manga version illustrated by Masaki Kawakami. The visual design focuses on the contrast between the characters' cynical exteriors and their gradual development of mutual trust. The franchise gained enough popularity to warrant an anime adaptation, reflecting its reception as a notable entry in the sub-genre of character-driven fantasy that emphasizes emotional vulnerability over traditional heroism.
