Ochibi-san

Ochibi-san was created by the acclaimed mangaka Moyoco Anno and debuted in 2008 as a serialized feature in the Asahi Shimbun newspaper. The series was designed as a meditative, atmospheric exploration of the four seasons in a small, rural Japanese town called Kamakura, focusing on the titular character, a small boy named Ochibi, and his daily encounters with the natural world and local inhabitants. Anno drew inspiration from the subtle beauty of seasonal shifts, aiming to capture the fleeting, gentle moments of everyday life that are often overlooked in faster-paced narratives.

The artistic style of Ochibi-san represents a significant departure from Anno’s more stylized, high-fashion-centric works.
