One Punch-Man (Fan Colored)

One Punch-Man originated as a webcomic created by the artist known as ONE in 2009. The series began as a self-published digital project, characterized by its intentionally simple, unpolished aesthetic which served to contrast sharply with the exaggerated power levels and intense action sequences of the protagonist, Saitama. It was born out of a desire to subvert the traditional tropes of the shonen manga genre, where the hero begins weak and struggles to overcome obstacles; instead, Saitama reaches the peak of his strength before the story begins, leading to a satirical exploration of boredom and existential ennui.

The fan-colored versions of the series emerged as the manga gained a massive global following after the 2012 digital remake illustrated by Yusuke Murata. Because the original manga is published in black and white, community-driven coloring projects became a way for fans to interpret and emphasize the dynamic, high-stakes battle choreography. These colored volumes are independent artistic endeavors rather than official publications, reflecting the intense dedication of the fandom to enhance the visual clarity and visceral impact of the series' most iconic combat scenes.
