Orange - Tome 4 (VF): Orange - 4

Orange, written and illustrated by Ichigo Takano, began its serialization in 2012 and quickly became a prominent title in the seinen manga genre. This fourth volume of the French-language edition, published by Akata, continues the poignant narrative of Naho Takamiya and the letters she receives from her future self. The series is celebrated for its delicate handling of complex emotional themes, particularly mental health, friendship, and the weight of personal regret.

Takano’s design aesthetic for the series emphasizes soft, expressive character art that mirrors the internal turmoil and evolving relationships of the protagonists. The decision to frame the story through a blend of slice-of-life tropes and speculative fiction allowed the series to resonate deeply with a broad audience. Upon its release, the work was lauded for its sincerity and for providing a nuanced exploration of teenage dynamics and the possibility of altering one’s fate.
