Where it came from
This doujinshi, titled 'Q leading to the fallen,' is a fan-made publication created by the artist Nezu within the thriving Osomatsu-san fan community. It emerged during the height of the anime's resurgence in the mid-2010s, a period marked by an explosion of amateur creative output that reimagined the sextuplets of the classic Fujio Akatsuka series in more mature, psychological, or darker contexts.
The work reflects the characteristic approach of the Osomatsu-san doujinshi scene, where creators often experimented with the inherent absurdity of the source material to explore themes of existential dread or character pathology. Nezu’s contribution is representative of the high aesthetic standards found in independent Japanese circles, focusing on atmospheric visuals and emotional depth to interpret the chaotic dynamics of the Matsuno brothers.
