Where it came from
Our VR is a manga series created by mangaka Kiriki Tetsu that explores the intersection of human identity and virtual reality environments. The series emerged during a period of heightened cultural interest in digital immersion and the psychological boundaries between physical and simulated worlds, utilizing a narrative style that leans into the genre of speculative fiction and character-driven drama.
The design of the series centers on intricate visual representations of cyberspace, with Kiriki Tetsu emphasizing clean, futuristic aesthetics that contrast with the grounded, emotional reality of the protagonists. Upon its release, the work was recognized for its thoughtful approach to the medium, garnering a focused following among readers who appreciate science fiction narratives that prioritize philosophical inquiry alongside traditional manga storytelling.
