Peter Dan Penangkap Bintang

Peter and the Starcatchers, released in Indonesian as Peter Dan Penangkap Bintang, originated as a collaborative novel written by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. Published in 2004, the book was conceived as a prequel to J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan, designed to explore the origins of the iconic character and his rivalry with Captain Hook. The narrative blends historical adventure with high fantasy, shifting the tone toward a fast-paced, cinematic storytelling style that appealed to a younger, modern audience.

The book’s design and illustration style were intended to evoke a sense of Victorian-era discovery, often accompanied by sketches that feel like old-fashioned nautical logs or explorers' notebooks. The collaboration between Barry, a humorist, and Pearson, a suspense writer, was praised for successfully revitalizing the Peter Pan mythology. It was received as a commercial success, leading to an extensive series of sequels and an adaptation into a Tony Award-winning stage production.
