Poems of Paul Hamilton Hayne. Complete ed

The Complete Edition of the Poems of Paul Hamilton Hayne was published by Lothrop Publishing Company in 1882, shortly after the poet's death. Hayne was a prominent figure of the post-Civil War Southern literary tradition, often referred to as the poet laureate of the South. This volume was curated to consolidate his various works into a definitive collection, preserving the lyrical, nature-focused aesthetic that defined his career.

The design of the volume reflects the popular Victorian-era approach to posthumous literary tributes, featuring ornate cloth bindings and gilt-edged pages meant to signal importance and prestige. While the work received modest critical attention during its release, it remains an essential primary source for scholars interested in Southern American literature and the transition of regional poetry during the late nineteenth century.
