Potion-danomi de Ikinobimasu!, known in English as I Shall Survive Using Potions!, began as a serialized light novel series written by the author known as FUNA. First appearing on the user-generated publishing site Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2015, the series was later acquired by Kodansha for print publication. The narrative follows a young woman who, after dying in a clerical error by a supernatural entity, is reincarnated into a new world with the ability to create any potion she can imagine, which she utilizes to navigate complex political and survival challenges.

The character designs and illustrations for the light novel were provided by artist Sukima, who established the visual identity of the protagonist, Kaoru. The series is celebrated for its subversion of typical 'isekai' tropes, focusing on the tactical and humorous application of chemistry rather than traditional combat prowess. Its success led to a manga adaptation and an anime series, cementing its place within the genre as a lighthearted, character-driven story that prioritizes wit and resourcefulness.
